Diabetic Foot problem?

i have an infection in my pinky toe and have had diabetes for the past 10-15 years and the infection started a couple months ago so i went to the doctor and he gave me a cream to put on the infection. so my question is will it go away? and if i take care of my feet and my diabetes i won’t get amputated right? i’m sooooo scared of amputation please tell me all details. what leads to amputation please.

Two months is TOO LONG. See a podiatrist who will advise you. for example, if it is a fungal infection, antibacterial medication won’t help.
